...who keep posting about how Davey would be sacked if we weren't still in the Cup and claim that they'd rather have seen us pick up 3 points today than winning next Sunday actually believe it? Or is this another way of showing that "I'm a bigger fan than you, etc" that seems to have been the theme on here over the past few weeks? Or once again, are we going to have the same people, who have been posting that the Cup is an unimportant distraction, start moaning about the glory hunters who don't deserve to be there when we beat Cardiff and they're clamouring for their Cup Final tickets? Davey wouldn't be sacked if we weren't still in the Cup, because our league form wouldn't have been as bad. Yes, it goes without saying that a club like us, with a lack of resources, and who, let's face it, were the favourites for relegation at the start of the season with just about every bookmaker, are going to get a tad excited and pre-occupied when we get to our first FA Cup Semi-Final for 96 years, particularly having beaten two Champions League Quarter-Finalists along the way, having lost probably our best two players to serious injury amidst it all. And why shouldn't they. Is anyone really telling me that they'd rather us have concentrated on getting the points in these past few games and thrown away something that we never in a million years would have dreamed would have happened. Pull the other one. No self-respecting Reds fan is going to be anything other than totally nervous and excited in equal measures for the next week. Like it or not, it's the biggest thing to have happened to the club since we beat Bradford, which makes it the second biggest in 96 years. Let's not have any more nonsense and let's create a buzz to help the team all we can for Sunday. Look what happened after we beat Chelsea, the momentum carried us over into the Ipswich game. The same can happen again. We all know Southampton have got a lot to do, so it might be as little as one or two more wins to keep us up anyway. But show me a Reds fan who would foresake getting to the FA Cup Final for anything and I'll show you a liar. So let's have no more edging your bets, so that you can say "told you so" if Cardiff beat us, let's have no more slagging of the manager and team that are giving us one of the best days out the club's ever had and let's have no more nonsense. Barring any training ground mishaps this week, and the two long term absentees aside, we're going into the game next week with a full fit squad. Cardiff have a game midweek, so we have the better preparation. All that's missing is some support. Stop beating about the bush folks, we're all excited. Let's show it.
Championship safety First If we stay up then we can attain momentum for a promotion push which we can do whilst in this division, if we get relegated then i believe it would set us back 4 or 5 years, I would rather be safe than win the FA cup so i must be a liar , but i believe i am in the Majority who would sacrifice all our cup glory for championship security.
Unfounded. You cannot say that our league form would have been better if not in the cup mr palm reader!!! How many matches did we win away from hom before the fa cup started??? Think bigger or don't think!
Well said mate i still feel posative about staying up with 3 home games left i think we can get at least 6 more points from them. If you look at washdays & southamptons games left to go we are in a better postion than them even with washdays game in hand.A Wembley facup semi final has got to be every true REDS dream
