The guy that got 14 goals from midfield last season. The guy who was in the Championship team of the season. The guy whose goal at Anfield was beamed all over the world. People really believe that not a single club made an enquiry about him when it was national news that he only had a year on his contract? Honestly?
When someone asks 'Is that car for sale' and the owner says 'Yes, it's 10,000,000'... People aren't going to say 'Oh, wow - what a bargain'...
There was always going to be interest in him but with the club giving a value of £10 million and refusing more sensible offers more in the region of £1.5 million. Yet again BFC shoot themselves in the foot..
Imagine selling him in August we couldve watched Hassell and Butterfield in midfield for 2 months. Proper good idea.
Or we could have used the money to buy someone else? Anyway, that's not what I said. I'm asking if people actually believe that no club made an offer for Brian Howard.
Aren't we allowed to buy new players? The way I see it, if we sold him in the summer we could have bought someone else. The fact that we're selling him now means we're a player short. Or am I being thick?
There is a difference between enquiry and offer. I do believe enquiries were probably made but no firm offers.
RE: Aren't we allowed to buy new players? But Davey's signings are all crap apparently. So it wouldve been better not to.
