I enjoy good banter. I don't particularly like poor banter and I really don't like ***** banter that makes Barnsley fans look thick.

It's crap banter to tell Shrewsbury fans they are Welsh. It's ***** and embarrassing to try and taunt them by singing God Save The Queen when not only is that the national anthem of England AND Wales, but most of those singing it would be republicans.

    Thick.

'Shrewsbury's a sh*thole, I wanna go home' sang without a hint of sarcasm by folk who'd not spent more than an hour in the town centre or could even point to where they were on a map of England.

Barnsley isn't exactly renowned for academic achievement.

There's some very clever people support Barnsley, there's some not so. I suspect that's pretty similar to most clubs, especially in our area of the world. What you hear on the terrace tends to be the younger end of our support, a gang mentality and alcohol induced. All in all making us look stupid half the time.

I once remember a chant at Swindon Town - "Fred West is your hero", I wonder if others have done that too?

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

Liverpool fan's for year's took great pleasure out of taunting man utd fans about the munich air disaster. Not even the hillsborough disaster changed there opinion's of it.

Would personally say that make's them a dam sight thicker.

Man Utd fans also call Liverpool fans murderers

It's rivalry and unfortunately sometimes it goes too far

Calling someone Welsh when their not is just banter

Mocking people losing their lives isn't

Totally agree pal. Wasn't trying to infer the song's about munich and hillsbro are banter. Just trying to make the point that what the OP was stating are hardly ground's for labelling us the thickest in britain. A set of fans that he is part of.

I don't think we're the thickest and not sure how you would determine who is. A good way of arguing your point perhaps is to use that James fella that regularly rings radio Dee Dar football heaven.
