I think apart from a season at Macclesfield and 1 at MK Dons, his record not his colour should rule him out.

To be fair, we were way ahead of the game with Anderson's appointment.

It's one of the things we can rightly be proud of as a club, even though he wasn't the best manager we've ever had!

Edit: I realise we weren't the first club to do this, but hadn't been a huge number of black managers at the time.

The job obviously is Butcher's.....if he wants it.

But I would think, given the chance, that Ince would definitely take it.......he's managed MK Dons & Notts County so why would he reject BFC?

I'm not sure Macclesfield and Blackburn are liberal utopias to be honest

That would still be discrimination. All the more reason in my do-goody eyes.

Hi Mr C. I respect your posts. Sadly at Barnsley there is a big racist element & as someone who DJs with black people week in week out it has a bad name.

To add to that I took my nephew to the leeds match last season & there was a c@@t making monkey noises at one of leeds's players (graydel maybe). I pointed out there was a ten year old kid sat behind him & he did the monkey gesture at him. At that point i suggested i kicked his f^&king racist lights out or he shut up. At no point did any fellow fans or stewards do anything & given this was the "family stand" I rest my point. Sort it out Don.

Do you mean at the club or Barnsley in general? I hear negligable racism at Oakwell nor around the ground on matchdays. I see little evidence on nights out. I think Barnsley's reputation is out-dated.

I guess that must be why clint marcelle, Bruce dyer, Darren Moore, JCR and Michael chopra were so hated by the fans...

That is the argument everyone always makes - what about all the ones who get the s--t? What about the massive BNP vote in the town.

If you dismiss it you are one of them, so f==k off

massive bnp vote because the working class has been ripped apart over the last 30 years by succesive governments they no longer trust, they voted bnp more out of desperation than because of racism..

All credibility to your argument lost in one sentence.

If I don't think there's a strong racism issue in Barnsley then I'm a racist.

That's a bit like saying I don't think there's many plum factories in Syria so I must be a Syrian plum factory.

If you dismiss it you are one of them? In other words if i don't agree with absolutely everything you say on the subject of racism i am a racist by default.

It seems to me it's you grouping people together to prejudice against them - ironic or what. It's a shame because you were making a good point about the fact that Barnsley - as well as a number of other northern industrial towns, to be fair - has a worrying number of bigoted people with outdated and prejudicial views.

Can't think of a more apt way of summing up than your effort - so I'll quote you.

    f==k off

I've had rows with one or two myself over the years. It's one of the reasons I sit by myself in the upper west stand. Fair play to you, mate.
