    On Monday Flicker told me that he wasn't keen on Non-League friendlies because of the risk of injuries with Amateurs trying to make a hardman name for themselves, & getting a Premier side was nigh on impossible as they mainly go abroad now (unless Blackpool has moved offshore)

    i agree with flicker. why risk injury, for a jog around with some amateurs flying in at all angles. after the 2013 that them lads went through, a run out against a pub team will teach them nothing.

    i think that's quite disrespectful

    it was a decent workout for the first team at Alfreton and something a bit different for the fans.
    Not many clubs barnsley visit that you can go in to there pub. Get a ok pint and get called Duck by the locals.

    It's not about the fans getting a pint, it's about the first team preparing for the campaign ahead. No point risking any needless injuries against these teams.

    There's a reason that players play in non-league, cos they're a bag of sh!te. Undisciplined and will fly in all angles for tackles. Pointless to risk players against the likes of them, nothing can possibly be learn from it
