Do we really need another winger?

I would have thought a Striker was/is more of a priority. If SD's not happy with things out wide put Humee out there where he's comfortable and bring in someone to partner Macken up front. Simple.

Or maybe he's got another cunning plan up his sleeve!!! :'(

All his starts for PNE this season have been as a striker!

I'm not sure he is comfortable out there. Hume's no natural winger that's for sure.

It seems the Preston fans rate this new lad, so he must be a decent player. Seems he's perhaps capable of goals maybe? And the coaching team obviously know a fair bit about him which I guess can only be a good thing

Worrying this.

I agree with Oakwell again. That's twice this year!

De Silva, Macken and Steele! Not bad at all in my opinion

Yes they have

However, he is a winger. I just hope that neither JCR or Devaney have picked up an injury. Also, it begs the question what was the point in signing El Haimour?

Aye, but shows now and again he does get it right!

I agree though, fingers crossed eh.

It'd be good if he has a bit of pace to him to match JCR - disco is quality but isn't the quickest these days

Nyatanga was good as well!

Anyway, I think it's a good thing, it will keep the pressure on the wingers! Disco has been hit and miss, maybe Whaley will do better on the left. He can't play at Preston, so it will be good to play him v Burnley on the Monday as it will be a fresh pair of legs!

It's a good option on the bench tomorrow for me rather than the 3 strikers on the bench!

Muller
Bobby
Moore
Souza
Kozluck
JCR
Anderson
Colace
Disco
Macken
Hume

Steele
Van Hommet
Whaley
Mossto/Rigters
KO

Leon as a reserve sub!

I knew I'd forgotten someone!

Does give more balance to the bench if either he or disco are on it. Plus many have said they see Devaney as being more effective coming off the bench anyway, let him run at tired defenders

That team would struggle at the back

Bobby Moore has lost a lot of pace.

he can play on either wing. I agree though a good left winger would be good to add some balance to the team but there like english people in bradford very hard to come by

Thrappo, you've just made a good point.

Isn't it funny how Davey manages to sign a player from a team we're due to play in the loan period making it effectivley a shorter loan.

Without going through all the discussion, in answer to the subject:

Yes
- JCR very capable on both wings and throuhg the middle
- Devaney can play both but just isn't good enough despite the efforts we cannot fault him for
- El Haimour needs to play to give us a better feel of his quality
- No-one in the reserves is good enough to come through

Whaley description from Preston fan at work:

A bit hit and miss. He played up front early season when a striker crisis but never got his rightful place back on a wing when they got one in. Apparently Whaley was miffed a little about it.

Only time will tell as ever. You can never judge a player straight away. Loo how crap Jon Walters was for us
