Just had a few words with a delivery company about a parcel that I was expecting to receive today. They initially tried to deliver it yesterday and left a card saying that they would try again today.Seems easy enough, doesn't it? Gets up this morning and sticks a note on the door pointing any delivery drivers in the direction of my work address should no one be in. Gets home from work - no parcel, no note to say they've been either. Rings 'em up to hear "We deliver until 6.30pm and we are open until 8pm so, if they haven't been by 6.30pm then call us again". 6.30pm comes and goes with no sight of a parcel and I'm on the phone again to find out what's happening. "We deliver until 7.30pm and we are open until 8pm so, if they haven't been by 7.30pm call us again". ( Hey presto! 7.30pm comes and goes and still no chuffing parcel so I'm on the dog and bone again. This time I'm told that they have tried to deliver today, haven't left me a note to tell me so, but wouldn't deliver to my works address as it's not residential. Fair do's I can understand that, but would have appreciated a card to say that they had at least been - would have saved the hassle of the phone calls. Then the best bit........... I explains that there is no point in trying to deliver tomorrow as no-one will be in & sarcastically suggested that they leave it in a place completely in view to the general public!! "ok, we can do that", said the chap!!! What?!?!!!? Can't deliver to a non-residential address, but can leave it out in the open, not signed for, for anyone to get hold of?!?!!?!? Am I missing somert here???
Why cant they deliver to your work address? I always get things delivered to the office instead of home as there is guaranteed to be someone there to sign for it. usually things needing a signature cant be redirected once they have been sent though - but then again they cant be left on the doorstep either
RE: Why cant they deliver to your work address? was it with parcel farce? if so that explains everything
See....the clue is in the name! It's not Work Delivery Network! ff Seriously.....can't have stuff delivered to my work place, that's office policy - i guess cause it's such a big place they might end up with loads and loads of deliveries and I wouldn't trust the internal mail to get it to me!
