PC has had a total rethink on football management ? Are football managers being overloaded with responsibility ? Decisions on who to buy Decisions on who to play what tac tics to use keeping everyone happy sticking to budgets by seeking players we can afford maintaining morale keeping an eye on coaching Is PC right to try and get someone to concentrate on the first team playing committments and allow a director of football deal with everything else ? I think it would work if both parties had enourmous respect for each other's roles, but that may be a lot to ask.
OR :- Is it possible That he's not looking for a Director of Football but a director to help him out with the footballing side of things, as many people on here have suggested he should do. If that is the case it gets my backing in spades.
I've heard people spout on about the evil of "director of football" but do people really think that ordinary directors / chairman / owners dont have a significant influence on signings blah blah blah I doubt however, given PC's previous comments on the matter, that we will be appointing anyone else to the board with any significant power unless they have their own funds to put at risk.
