Not good business style if that were so. It seems now like nothing will happen on deadline day... or so we are told. But it wouldn't surprise me if some ludicrous deal went through for Stones, we then had a few bob to spend.....and too late to do anything with it.
My view on it would be something like this Barnsley identify target's on the budget we have Agree deal's with clubs and start talk's with player's The john stone's bandwagon set's off and we hold fire believing we have a nice windfall coming to get better quality in The john stone's bandwagon derails and we realise the money isn't coming We go back for original targets and are promptly told to F*** right off
No. The message from the club re: recruitment did not rely on Stones being sold. If he is sold the money is a bonus and should have been considered as such. The recruitment shambles of this summer cannot be excused away by Stones not being sold.
