Mum is looking at buying some wristbands to sell for CFSN.

Do you think they would sell seeing as wristbands seem to be a "fashion item"?

What colour do you suggest that isn't already taken?

(we thought either orange as it is the colour used on the website or maybe purple)

    RE: Thanks

I'll wear one too. And I bet I can find loads of others who would.

Please can you ask your mum/dad to give me a PM when they're next online, Laura? I need a quick word.

    Thanks. :)

    Some companies say 500

    and some say 1000.

Mum says it's confusing as no-one seems to give a complete cost figure. There seems to be lots of hidden costs.

I'd only bank on selling a couple per member of your organisation if I was you Laura. It's easy to overestimate the take-up of promotional items.

When I was printing t-shirts I often found myself in the strange position of trying to talk my customers into placing a smaller order.

    Trouble is

the companies that make the bands don't really want small orders. The price per unit is nearly double for 500 bands than it is for 1000. Plus there is a "tooling charge" for setting the machine up per colour or per size then shipping etc.

Because we only have a few Cystinotics/families in the Uk, I'm beginning to think it's a bad idea even though one company does reduce the price per item for Charities.

What's the reduction for charities and how many families are in the organisation?

If it ever gets off the ground, then orange or purple would be great.

    I'm looking at Adbangle

    http://www.wristbands.uk.com/
    Normal Price

    500 1 colour printed Adult £1.15 each tooling £25
    500 1 colour printed Child £1.12 each tooling £25
    1000 1 colour printed Adult 75p each tooling £25
    1000 1 colour printed Child 72p each tooling £25

    500 1 colour embossed A £1.48 tooling £50
    500 1 colour embossed C £1.45 tooling £50
    1000 1 colour embossed A £1.08 tooling £50
    1000 1 colour embossed C £1.05 tooling £50

    Charity Price
    500 1 colour printed Adult 63p each tooling £20
    500 1 colour printed Child 61p each tooling £20
    1000 1 colour printed Adult 38p each tooling £20
    1000 1 colour printed Child 36p each tooling £20

    500 1 colour embossed A 80p each tooling £45
    500 1 colour embossed C 78p each tooling £45
    1000 1 colour embossed A 55p each tooling £45
    1000 1 colour embossed C 53p each tooling £45

Then there are additional costs for the number of letters in the slogan, £20 per 250 if you change colour and then carriage.

HQ is a UK address but the factory is in China so I don't know if there would be Customs and Exise etc to pay.

As I said we are a very small charity which relies on family and friends to fund us.
