THIS SHOULD BE A HAPPY TIME OF THE SEASON................BUT its not because of .........uncertainty
We are mid-table after a fantastic first half of the season. From here we should be pushing on to add one or maybe two other faces to the squad to see if we can push for a top six place

INSTEAD...................we are wondering if we will have a team that is going to be anything like decent by this time next week

Muller..........£1 million clause, has he....is he going....surely we have learnt from the McIndoe debacle.....massive loss if he does go ???
Nyatanga........on loan, whats happening is he coming back ???
Werling........is he on loan, whats happening, has he left the club ???
Macken.......gone, does Davey want him back, if not is there someone else lined up ???
De Silva........gone, is Davey trying to buy him or bring him back on loan, whats happening ???
Howard..........going to WBA, is he, whats happening ???

We lost 2 points on Boxing day because of the loss of De Silva. How many more are we likely to lose while we build a second team for the second half of the season

I can just hear it now from a Wendy fan that lives in Wombwell or a Weeds fan that lives in Ardsley or a Blunts fan that lives in Cudworth........."same old Barnsley, get a decent player and straight away they want to sell him or let him go"

We need a statement from the club

Why do we need a statement from the club?

What do you want it to say? 'Don't worry, everything will be okay'?

A statement would be better sounding something like this............

Muller, Werling, Howard........................ARE GOING NOWHERE !!!!!!!!!!!
And as for De Silva and Nyatanga...........we would like them until the end of the season if not longer

How does that sound (chinny) ...............ok ???????

    They can't make such guarantees

And I think you know that.

    And I think you know that...............no, sorry I don't

Is there any other local team that is under such pressure right now ???
i.e is there any other local team that COULD lose six members of the first team in the next 2 weeks ???

we should blame ourselves for been pessamistic about our chances of A) attracting good players and B) keeping them for a bit. as fans weve sold the squad and relegated us in in about 4 sentances lets see were we are at the end of january hey.

We lost 2 points on Boxing Day because Howard didn't clear the ball - nowt to do with not having De Silva.

Don't other teams have loan players then?
Ever thought that we wouldn't have got Muller without the release clause - half the season from him to put us top half of table and over 400% profit will do fine for me (although I'd prefer him to stay)

I can't keep up with you and Dragon Tyke - I reckon you are just split personalities of the same person, there's something wierd going on....when one of you is positive the other is negative!

Given that the transfer window is almost upon us

Then EVERY team in the country, never mind locally, COULD lose 6 members of the first team!

I think you will find that we conceded 3 goals

not just the late pen, if we had not given then the other 2 then the last one would not matter. So Howard is not to blame solely, but I agree he should have hoofed it up field.

On the muller 1m release clause.

On McIndoe we paid £125,000 and sold for £200,000 was it?

On muller we paid £175,000 and had a clause for £1,000,000 so why havent we learnt?

RE: A statement would be better sounding something like this............

Davey's already stated that he has been trying to keep all the loanees.

A club like ours can never give guarantees that they won't sell a player if the right offer comes in.

    Simple as that.

We already have a statement mate.

GS has stated that none of our squad players are for sale. It's fair to assume that nothing's changed. And I've been a critic in the past but I'm confident that arrangements are under way to replace any loan players we might lose.I take your point regarding "same old Barnsley" boring fans into desertion but I don't think that's what we are these days, I think we have good reason to be optimistic.

    Acid TEST...................and David Hirst

Acid Test.......When one of our top players is not playing or even on the bench for some unknown reason

As for Muller. If Muller goes for £1 million............WE HAVE GIVEN HIM AWAY........in a very David Hirst fashion

Muller is worth at least £3 million

IF, and it is highly likely with all the stories, there is a 1M release clause

    NO-ONE will pay any more.

    thats it end of.

doesn't matter if he is worth 100 Million, he will go for one million.

Now, M Macindoe wouldn't have been a Barnsley player without the release clause, as it ever crossed anyones mind, that muller might not have joined without the clause? but similarly, it may be someone at the club that completely buggered up and put a shitty 1m clause in.

End of Day, We can do nothing but speculate, and all will become clear If/When muller moves on.

if you read the chron over last few weeks...

he wants all 3 loan players back, but its out of his hands.

as for howard and muller, yes he wants them to stay, but all players have a price.

I can't see why this doesn't sink in.

I love it when Nudger puts a valuation on one of our players.

Still think Souza is worth 2.5m Nudge?

    young nudger...

muller is worth the money you say, HOWEVER, he (or hs agent) had it in his contract that IF a club offered 1M then we had to let him go, apparently some players have these release clauses in their contracts, OTHERWISE they wont sign for the club in the first place. the clubs hands are tied. if we do sell him, and i for 1 dont want him to go, then we have made 400 per cent profit. would you go to another place to work, if they offered you a SEVEN HUNDRED per cent pay rise on what you currently earn? also i posted on here a short while ago, that Howard has said.....'wild horses wont drag him away from here'...

You are quite right in your concerns.

We all need a better supply of information from the club than we get now. I am of the opinion they only tell us the good news most of the time and bad news after its happened.

I saw Werling on Wednesday at the ground and to date, correct me if I am wrong, not a word from the club why he was missing from the line up. Kosluk played a blinder in his last match, 'MOM, but not a word from the club as to is omission from the squad. He surely is not still injured, if so why don't they say so ? The rumours are he is being saved for a Jan transfer to Crystal Palace, again pure speculation with no word from the club.

There should be more information available to us 'paying fans'
