RE: Quite possibly the worst chant ever heard at a football match She wore, She wore, She wore her red suspenders. She wore her red suspenders in the merry month of May, And why, i ask, did she wear the red suspenders, She wore the red suspenders so the Ripper would murder me. Murder me, Murder me, He's the famous Yorkshire Ripper and he's gonna' murder me. *Had to listen to that all the way down to Plymouth, must have sang it all the way their non-stop. (banghead)
RE: To what tune? nt No idea, i can sing the 'Red Suspenders' song in my head but not for the love of god do i know the tune.
Sick song and I sarcastically clap those who sing it. My mum grew up in leeds and was terrified for years. Its mainly just the chavs who were not even born when he was sentenced. It embarrasses me and the club that it is sung
I wouldn't blame the chavs its been sung down at Oakwell for years.. when it came out at a recent game a few of my older mates commented that they hadn't heard that since the 80's.
I've never understood why it is sung? Is it an insult to Leeds fans or sumat? I like the 10,000 coppers and only 1 yorkshire ripper But that's cos I hate coppers as they seem to use the fact that they initially caught peter sutcliffe for a routine traffic offence as an excuse to persecute every motorist. But I don't understand the reason why Barnsley fans would sing that song.
Offensive and sick... /poo /poo /poo /poo /poo Those of us who lived through the times of The ripper would find NOTHING to sing about..most women in Yorkshire lived in terror at that time..
