Drove past it after getting hopelessly lost on the way back from the play-offs at St Andrews, looked very un-pretty even by the extremely dire aesthetic standards of the West Midlands. Still, should mean that hotels won't be in very high demand and you should pick up a bargain!

If you are allowed hotels in the £100 to £120 quid a night range then go for the Village hotel.

    http://www.village-hotels.co.uk/

Its right on the edge of the town, next to the M6, but its got a very lively bar and the facilities are cracking.

I would say that staying there would be much better than going into town - its a hole.

Worst pub I've ever been in was in Walsall

Coach and Horses - horrible! It was like a throw back to the 70's!

A bit like Knightsbridge crossed with The Cotswolds.

    Unlucky...

...worked for a company with a factory there for a couple of years and can confirm it is definatley a sh*t hole. Would stay away from town centre at all costs! If I was working down there I'd stay in Birmingham, somewhere close to Broad St, and travel.
