being a fat ******* and really needing to lose weight (again) i'm fancying a go at it, i used to do 25/30 miles 3x a week last year down the t.p.t. so if anyones wanting to do it and needs a training partner give me a shout.
monk bretton, so i can get on the t.p.t at redfearns and go in either direction.but i've got a bike rack for the car and do tend to go to donny/penistone all over just for a change of scene, well i used to
i live just at the back of jacksons next to the footy pitches. you can get on the t.p.t at the top of cudworth and go down over the viaduct to stairfoot
25 / 30 mile...3 times a week...thats pretty impressive....... thereev did 20 mile last april on the mountain bike and it nearly finished me off,...... although i do feel regular practice would enable me to give M Cavendish a run!! how the hell did you get fat....you must like them Oakwell pies a lot!!?
its easy how i got this fat, everytime i took your mother up the dirtbox she gave me a biscuit................. hope this helps, toot toot
I need to get back into biking. Did Morecambe to Filey last year (doing something similar this year also) for charity (with Jaffa from this forum) and in preparation, went down the TPT a few times (Royston to Wentworth is a great ride). Let me know when you're going for a ride and I'll try and make one in. Cheers.
the old ones are still the best arn't they.....well done. i still think 25 / 30 miles 3 times a week is impressive though.
being a workshy fop i'm available most times, i've done m.b to walton. penistone to m.b. bentley to m.b. penistone to dunford bridge and most mixes inbetween. i've got knee surgury coming up ( carts minor acl and clean out) but before and after no worries, are you my sort of area ?
I normally do this route around Barnsley - About 20 - 25 miles <a target='_blank' href='http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/220/screenshot000930.jpg/'><img src='http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/9708/screenshot000930.th.jpg' border='0'/></a> Uploaded with <a target='_blank' href='http://imageshack.us'>ImageShack.us</a> Did the Southport to Barnsley on TPT last October. 115 miles in 3 days. Not as hard as it sounds, except we miscalculated the last day where we ended up doing 50.6miles. The final 15miles were in the dark (Dunford Bridge to Worsborough). No lights, off road with only moonlight and reflections in puddles to guide you. Not got around to getting out so far this year. There's a decent 30+ miles trail to Doncaster and back, all on TPT and taking in a decent pub / grub stop <a target='_blank' href='http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/685/screenshot000931.jpg/'><img src='http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/7162/screenshot000931.th.jpg' border='0'/></a> Uploaded with <a target='_blank' href='http://imageshack.us'>ImageShack.us</a>
your right there pal, thats if you dont spend about 45 minutes trying to find the turning off to elsecar lol, was a good laugh that charity thing cant wait for this years, in training already. Jedi, when you do it, download something called sport tracker(for your mobile) it will track you were you go on your bike and show you the speed and everything it is a nice little tool, i use to use it all the time. http://www.sports-tracker.com/ heres what it would look like. http://www.sports-tracker.com/#/workout/jaffabfc/erpeps39mjnbgor3
That Sports-Tracker doesn't look half bad. I've been using RunTracker, but it kills the iphone battery. Lucky to get 3 hours out of it. Just ordered a booster / charge pack for it.
