Ah well he stopped posting but he told me personally at the end of last season that he reads the BBS avidly and his wife does too.

They really enjoy it. That's what they said.

I think, now that he is Chairman that it is best that he doesn't comment on here, but I am damned sure he still reads it.

    It's addictive.

i think if I was in a coma I'd still want to be plugged in like !

    Haaaaaaaaaaaa

I've been there, you probably won't remember this but I posted a load of **** about Gary Jones being a crap player and Steve Parkin on the Rochdale website when he went back to them.

I'd had 4 large Chablis but I gave 'em hell.

Next day I woke up to see that Gary Jones' brother had responded and all hell had been let looose

    Windy rescued me!!.

Treat of the week used to be, go out after work on Friday night , come home, trip up on the stairs in the mad rush to get to the computer and the BBS, get on BBs and sit there till early hours on the Chablis spouting crap!!!

Oh I've grown up now LOL LOL LOL!

We were told by Scott himself he was going on trial

for the week to Chelsea but to keep it under our hats until it was officially announced.

Yes. Very Odd. I just can't see what's in it for BFC.

Obviously we shouldn't stand in the way of a young lad who has the chance to play for one of the biggest clubs in England, if not the world. Having said that, I would advise him that his first team opportunities for Chelsea will be very limited and his progress may be far swifter if he stays at Barnsley. If he's good enough, he'll make it to the top soon enough.

But if Chelsea want him they should put a bid in for him. If it's acceptable and Scott wants to go then that's fine. That's how it usually works with transfers. I can't see how us allowing a player to leave for a trial helps us in any way. That tells the buying club we're quite prepared to let him go, which severely hinders our bargaining power when it comes to determining a price. It’s like we’re happy to be Chelsea’s feeder club.

They may be taking him on trial to see if he has the ability to become a top keeper, and to get a closer look at him before making a formal bid for him. Maybe GS and AR have accepted what an opportunity this is for Scott and decided it's only fair to let him go for a trial, and then for Chelsea to decide whether they want to bid for him or not. Seems fair enough to me.
