...net transfer spending by Championship clubs last season?

I think you'll find that we're significantly higher up the table than people think

Based on who's figures?

(Super Tykes X McCarthy's) + (North Yorks Red x madmark) x James G = Davey's spunked all our cash.

£700k benchmark

The well established BBS formula

Chris Brunt = £3mill = Brian Howard + Any Davey signing £value > existing players £value - cost of petrol at Silkstone Garage.

Mostto, Christensen, ODJ and Macken

have so far cost us less than Lee Trundle cost Bristol City. Or Steve Howard cost Leicester. Or Vine at QPR. Or 3 of Wolves's striker signings. etc.

With shrewd contractual negotiations, break clauses, appearance requirements, bonus's etc you never end up paying the fees puported for a player who doesnt play. Hope that continues......

We must have spent the least then

If Leicester spent more than us then that's it, we're bottom of the spending league.

Hang on a minute though

There's 22 other clubs apart from us and Leicester isn't there. Shucks, I forgot all about those.

All spent less net than us. And I haven't started looking yet

And as it happens

Leicester spent £2 million on those two. We spent more than that.

Leicester did spend more than us.....

....but I'll wager our net spend is in the top half of the division.

I dunno 'cos I don't know what the others spent

But I don't believe we spent peanuts compared to everyone else. I'd be very surprised if we haven't spent more than a number of clubs.

Charlton spent £2m on Luke Varney

And I suspect they spent a bit more on other people.

How much are we suggesting that we've spent, out of curiosity?

Ahh okay, apologies.

If we're doing it that way, we didn't have any players that were capable of being bought for more than a packet of crisps at the end of last season. Except Paul Hayes and the absurd alleged compensation fee.

This is what it has been reported we spent on players

Apart from De Silva. I've got that figure from Journo Tyke who is adamant it's the right amount.

Muller £450,000
Foster £100,000
Campbell-Ryce £175,000
De Silva £750,000
Mostto £400,000
Christensen £300,000
Odejayi £200,000
Macken £100,000

Total £2,475,000
