Does anyone know an ex Yorkshire cricketer called

Simon Kellet, think he lives in this area.

rings a bell, batsman I think. Wasn't a regular but played maybe 6 or 7 years ago

 

dint play for yorkshire all that much. certainly no international honours

He was born in Cleckheaton and went to Whitcliffe Mount school, I know that much. He played for Yorkshire from 1989-93 and gave it all up for a career in (I think) sales.</p>

He was touted as the next Boycott and was certainly very talented but just never took it to that next level. I used to live near him.</p>

 

Plays for a team called Dunnington in the York League. Decent bloke. Works for Costcutters in Sales and the costcutter guy pays a lot of the Dunnington team. They're known locally as a bit of a Chelsea, where nearly every one of the 1st team is paid.

 

Not sure if its the same lad I'm thinking about, has he got wife and kids do ya know, the lad i'm thinking about is a single fella I think.

 

He played 87 times for Yorks 1st class cricket.149 innings hs 125no ave 30.46
