Does anyone know any poker sites where you can play 'Sit and Go' for play money?

The other sticking point is they must be Mac compatible for my computer.

I've signed up to a couple that work on here but they don't offer 'Sit and Go' tournaments for free.

Sit and Go means where you play until there's a winner and people have lost all their chips rather than just coming and going randomly.

    Cheers.

I have played at William Hill for a couple of years. It was one of the first which enabled you play in £sterling and withdraw winnings easily (others which were US based used netteller accounts which were hard to settle). Currently you can play for free (come and go) or for £. To Sit and Go (tournament poker) you can play from as little as £1 a game. I find this a great learning experience since people seem to play properly. When people are playing for free they tend to play stupid hands just for the sake of it. Normally a game can last upto 2 hours if you get to the end - not bad for a £1 stake, plus if you get to the last 3 you end up winning cash.

Terry, are World PX and betfred easy to withdraw money from

As mentioned in a different post, i have used willhill since they were one of the first to let you withdraw your winnings in £. Do world px and betfred let you withdraw funds easily in sterling to your debit card. Also, presumably you can play both pot limit and no limit

Appreciated TN, but I don't have that virtual PC thing...

    Looks rather expensive too!

Surely there must be a site, I've downloaded and signed up to two already that support Mac but don't offer free Sit and Go and am getting fed up with it :(

Betfred is a piece of piss

worldpx is american and uses neteller which is a ball ache and half.

In its favour it has the most user friendly software out of all online poker sites. On top it is the only site to have free rake.

To all those who don't play its the admin charges and 10% on cash tables. I generally every week get 50 quid back into my online account from rakes that other sites take off you for playing.

    RE: part timer?

unfortunately, i am sat at my laptop which doesn't have the willhill software on. first you will need to create a user logon, once you are logged in, there should be numerous tabs for tournaments, current games etc. i am not sure whether one of the tabs says play for free, or wether the games are nestled within the others. You may need to refer to the help screens on the main willhillpoker website. Sorry if i am not much help - i am that used to just automatically clicking the icon, logging in and playing - without really remembering how

how do you get money out of netteller, and is there a charge. I did originally set up an account but it seemed too much hassle. 'Betfred is a piece of piss' - how do you get money out of this one

Although a little off-topic, I used to play blackjack at lots of sites using the basic hand strategy chart, using the cash match bonuses they gave you each month - i could make between £10-£20 each account each month, but i only used £sterling accounts which limited it a lot. However, i was spending hour after hour, and in the end it stopped being fun and seemed to turn into a job. Does anyone else do this now ?

No charge but its trouble transfering between all the accounts. takes longer etc and manual.

Betfred is direct between your account card and the account on the site. Very easy takes 3 days in total.

They have excellent money available as well incl seats to WSOP etc.

Last week won 200 quid on one tourney from the 10 quid per week i budget for.

I play tourneys and sit and go's generally

I find sit and go's easy to get your account money up. I seem to win 75% of my sit and goes then use the cash to play tourneys.

In all honesty I play for the fun and any money i win goes back into playing on most occasions unless i win big then I'll drag it.

I'm trying to tweak my skills.

    I'll play for approx 20 hours+ a week.

I couldn't make a living from it (far from it) but I reckon if I put the hours in I could maybe win some decent cash one day.

Its a game that takes practice and what i try to do is put 10 quid into my account per week then use that to enter the harder tourneys. Its a learning curve thing.

RE: I play tourneys and sit and go's generally

have you played in any real local tournaments.

I tend to play in NL tourneys - i always struggle in PL. probably because i tend to play extremely tight with the occasional all-ins when i have a reasonable hand or sense weakness. These type of hands don't come along too often which is why i struggle with Pot Limit.

Also, wifey doesn't like me spending my time playing - not a money thing, more of a time thing - she seems to think i should spend it with her... poker or talking to wife - hard choice !

    I hear that...

    **** 'em off!!!

How much joy can you make off a woman with as much joy!!

PL is pish. It was invented for americans who couldn't gamble. NL is a game of skill and chance (70/30 imho) where pot limit isn't. Too many rivers are seen and that in NL is for people who are chasing hands.

I haven't played live for 6 months but if somebody wants a game we'll set one up from this site. A few of us know each other now so no problems etc??

    Fancy it?
