    it was reported at the time that both b****well and laws both applied for the job,dont think they made the shortlist though,dunno why laws didnt but b****well failed because he's a lovely person.

    I seem to remember he priced himself out of the job.
    The rumour I heard that he asked for silly money something like 500k per year
