I would presume so. I've been in the last two weeks. The first week was excellent, not too many folk in and plenty of bar staff to go around. I think I ended up having around 8 pints and a couple of Vodka redbulls. Last week, was a completely different story. In theory, the system sounds pretty good. But once a few people get to know, it just creates a siege mentality. There wasn't enough bar staff on to cope, and those who were on didn't know whether they were coming or going, for everyone shouting and jostling for position. For me, the whole thing just hasn't been thought out properly. They are obviously trying to make a profit on the whole thing, and in doing so, are leaving dozens of people waiting 20-30 minutes at the bar for a drink, which will only aid in fuelling peoples anger and violence erupting. I'd be inclined to give it a miss, if it is indeed on tonight. Quid a pint in Tempo. Two-for-One in the Ice Bar - same old crap beer, but less of the fighting at the bar.
7 quid all you can drink... It started out pretty well. Basically, you pay 7 quid to get in and all drinks are free upon entering. Like I said below, the whole thing just creates a siege mentality. Imagine 100 people trying to get a pint/bottle/cocktail, and only around 6 people serving. It was like a circus last Friday. Now, too many people know about it, and it's just havoc.
Really?? thats amazing! Its like a student union or something! any drinks? whens it start? oblivion here I come!
RE: Really?? I believe it starts at around 7pm. As I said mate, you'd be wise giving it a miss (unless, it's a quiet night). Last week was dead just about everywhere, except Livingstones, which was absolutely heaving.
Ugh... Hundreds of sweaty, drunken chavs, bouncing around throwing bottles of VK Blue all over the place, whilst gurning away to the sounds of Clubland? I'd rather eat my own colon.
Yes, but... All you can drink is fine and dandy, but when there is 100 drunken idiots all jostling and shouting to get position. It really isn't much fun, and let's face it - we're queuing for John Smiths for christs sake, it's hardly nectar. I took it upon myself to lean over the bar, and start pulling my own pints last week. I chose the Carling pump; the joy.
John Smiths... is good when there is nothing else available. Sam's is good, especially the old brewery bitter. Yes, I believe it's bottles as well. But like I said, you can't just go upto the bar and say "I'll have 3 pints of Johns and 2 bottles of Stella please". You are only permitted to one drink per visit, and let me tell you, just getting to the front feels like an achievement.
