    Wakefield?

Just had a look for one in Wakey. Not one.
I'd better start saving for a pair of dentures.

How much does private cost: Say one check up and one visit to the hygienist for scale and polish per year

    Dont bother with a dentist

I recently needed a new partial denture and was quoted £200 - £250 by a dentist. I went to a dental lab in featherstone who took all the necessary impressions etc and within 2 days I had my new denture. Cost - £60 and its the best denture i've ever had. Want me to dig out the phone number for you ?

RE: If you are out of Full-Time education whats the difference,

NHS treatment usually works out cheaper as the nhs contribute. ALSO there is a limit on the maximum charge for any one course of treatment

So you go to the dentist and say NHS thanks,

and it becomes "cheaper". Do you not have to provide info.

RE: So you go to the dentist and say NHS thanks,

The problem is that you have to be registered as a nhs patient and if you move areas or a dentist cancels your registration ( he's entitled to do so if you dont visit him for 15 months) it is virtually impossible to register as the dentists are entitled to refuse to take on nhs patients. The only way to get dental treatment then is to register as a private patient and pay through the back teeth for it (excuse the pun) dentists are this centurys highwaymen

With us you have to provide evidence of NHS entitlement. There is no such thing as an 'NHS Sight Test' or specs.

They aren't. They just refused to be bullied by the government into accepting a pitiful rate for treatment of NHS patients.

What do you require for evidence

Does a national insurance number count?

The NHS really IS in a bad way

Last year my wife needed an operation and was told there was an eleven month waiting list by the surgeon. As we had a couple of holidays booked we asked how long she would have to wait if we paid and had it done privately. Four grand and ONE WEEK later she had her op (Done by the same surgeon). The whole NHS is becomming an unfunny joke and I would advise anyone who is young and healthy enough to take out private medical insurance asap

NI no. Letter stating what benefit you are getting. Name & Address of educational establishment. Proof of date of birth.

Anything relevant to the reason you claim an eye examination paid for by the NHS.(Taxpayer)

    Just being factual.

What are you implying ? I found that a bit aggressive.
