A mate of mine's elderly Mum is in that one on Dodworth Road. Can't remember the name of it but she seems happy there & he's impressed with the level of care she receives.

    Not in in Tarn but...................................................

Valley Park in Wombwell is very good. My Mum in Law was a resident there for 3 years before she died. The nursing care Mum recieved when she was very ill was excellent. The staff were very good.

They also have a good entertainment programme including days out and trips to the coast.

I suggest you visit a home and talk to the staff and some of the residents to get a general idea of how good the home is. A good home would encourage you visit and put your mind at rest.

    Chapel View Care Home, Mapplewell

I work there as head cook. its a very friendly and homely. Some places get too big and impersonal.Look on the website, http://www.fshc.co.uk/residential/descriptions.asp?centreID=222§ion=elderly&county=yorkshire
If you get in touch with the manager you will be able to take a look around and see for your self.
I used to work for a large nursing home and it became more like a hotel than someone's home. which after all it is supposed to be their home for as long as they need it to be.
    Good luck.
