    RE: Travelocity?

    or Expedia

Just sort out your flights and then book hotels seperately

    Just booked.....

3 nights in NY and 4 in Vegas £1017 each.. may be a bit expensive but l was sick off looking around for the sake of a £100 and all the hassle. Booked it through Virgin but don't do it on the website l went through the website and at the last minute realised they didn't do an internal flight between NY and Vegas, so l rang them up and they did it through on the phone and included the internal flight, don't know why it wouldn't do it on line. I got a bigger discount on the phone than online (which offers a 5% discount). I'm going on Sept 6th staying in Comfort Inn and Luxor.

    Is that Comfort Inn

in NY on 8th Ave (I think) - if so I've stayed there and it was ok, don't use the hotel bar though...right rip off....theres a decent sports bar over the road, decent selection of local ales and more games on TV than it's possible to follow! and a cracking diner as well.

Across from the Empire state building, what do you recommend for eating places, drinks etc... Dont fancy trailing around the city at night looking like a perfect mugging!

Never felt safer than when in Manhattan,

walked back from the Port Authority, to Shertaton Towers which is just up from Times Square, after getting the bus back from the Meadowlands (NY GIANTS match). Without a worry in the world.</p>

RE: Never felt safer than when in Manhattan,

I agree, been a couple of times, once with one other girl and once on my own - the place is so busy through the night even that as long as you don't go down unlit alleyways (who would anyway) then you'll be absolutely fine.
It's a great place, be aware of things around you but don't ruin the experience by being too nervous about the place.
    Enjoy

RE: Never felt safer than when in Manhattan,

Its the girlfriend l worry about, she got through Cairo market being the only blonde and in a shortish skirt in about a crowd of 2000 women (all wearing the headgear) We were followed like celebs, people constantly asking for money. We ended up going back to the bus a few hours early! Anything/where you recommend? She wanting to go on the Sex and the City tour, think l'll stay in the bar though!
