Some of the ones I have looked at on the Internet were trying to charge me upwards of £50 - £100 Club used to do them for about £20 I want them for my new car.
Ambermac98@aol.com email this guy, company in Sheffield, they'll do Toby on there, with a slogan, any size, £12. Includes P&P. I've dealt with the guy in the past, his name's Rory, great guy.
Is it illegal to put Toby on a reg plate? I only thought it was illegal to change the font, size of lettering, and size of plate. All of the things I've done to mine, basically!
RE: I wouldn't want to encourage you to break the law Tina! Heeee hee thanks. Hubby just told me I can't have Toby Tyke on as it's illegal, thought he was going to tell me that I could have Ozzie Owl on though!
RE: its not illegal I was under the impression that anything at the side of the plate other than the GB sign was illegal.
OK - not quite anything but Toby would be illegal according to Top Gear http://www.topgear.com/content/buyersguides/06/print.html The law allows you to display a national flag as part of the number plate design, but other symbols such as football team badges or the car's maker's badge are forbidden
You'd think they had better things to do, wouldn't you? Surely a logo at the side of a plate, even if it had to be boxed off from the main number or something, is no big deal? I hate to think what was going on in the world or even just the UK while people were getting together to outlaw Toby Tyke number plates. Actually, I'm thinking of changing my username to "Grumpy Old Fan".
RE: You'd think they had better things to do, wouldn't you? Well I can fully understand why there are strict guidelines on fonts and disply of the registration etc but, providing that the symbol at the side is no bigger than allowed I can't see what it matters what is in it.
Strict guidelines And it doesn't matter how strict the guidelines are, they're not strictly enforced so what's the point?
