Have seen this said before, but if that's right would he knowingly have sanctioned players so that the squad (in his own words) is 'unbalanced'? The strong rumour at the moment seems to be Joe Lolly on loan......... another midfielder! Is it that the Board that are over-eager to have a shedload more young prospects fattened up for market? Does the way that the transfers are being conducted even fit 'the plan'? And why does Hecky sound so miserable? And if so much research and knowledge goes into the signings, why don't we know our (current) best team? I have the feeling that there is more going on at the moment than we know about.
Having a squad full of young up and coming talent may make us more of an attractive proposition for someone to buy the club .
He sounds miserable because folk - mainly the board actually - seem to think he's a miracle worker. He's been landed in the totally unworkable situation of cobbling together a cut price team pretty much in weeks if not days. Feel sorry for the guy. Good managerial talent whose prospects may well be sunk with the team.
Something is not adding up at present. And I think there will be half a dozen Championship vacancies before we reach November.
I don't think these are the words of someone who has chosen the players he's talking about, rates them and thinks they can make the grade. “I don’t know the best 11 and also we need to give players opportunities because of where they’ve come from. We’re a club about opportunities so we’ll always give people those opportunities to step up".
