Most everywhere else is nearly sold out, apart from the far end of the east stand, but hardly anyone has gone in the old thing. What happened to the plans for rebuilding on that area, perhaps if we did go up these ideas might resurface?
I do, every match. Upstairs or down depending on the weather. But it's my mate's shout, so East upper for us. My season ticket will be in West.
Lots of fairweather fans attending, who do not appreciate the unique charms of the old West and are afraid they might catch something. I've been in there since 1980 and I never caught anything that serious. Except the ball in the face from a wild Stewart Barrowclough clearance. And even that was arguably my own fault, for standing in the wrong place/wrong time....
This is why I don't sit in the West Stand http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showth...e-West-Stand-Upper-today&highlight=West+stand
Me too I wonder if we know each other by sight? Im on the front row 5 seats in from the left ( so not directly behind Ben but usually behind the visiting scouts I will be in the west as usual on Saturday
Ditto. Went there once. Boxing Day 1978, beat Port Vale 6-2 with a Clarkey hat-trick. Even at 14, I had to sit sideways to stand the slightest chance of getting my legs in.
Good, one of the reasons I sit in the West Stand is to avoid people (and to shout abuse at the lino/their left back).
probably yes it wouldnt suprise me if we have talked to each other i usually have a chat with people before the game
Because the plaggy seats are too big for the original steps. More room on the wooden ones, just harder on the arse. Also you can dangle legs over the seat in front. So long as it's empty...
