Is this the Kay Carter - Conservative candidate for Barnsley.

    http://www.southyorkshireconservatives.org.uk/person/kay-carter

is this the 2014 candidate for Conservative Party in Hornsey and Wood Green Kay Carter

    http://www.hwgca.org.uk/news/meet-kay-carter

Both are / were passionate about their communities Kay4barnsley started tweeting in April while Kay J Carter stopped tweeting in December. Amazing how the Torys have their candidates over the years so closely aligned, with the odd (conspicuous by its absence) difference. so similar though especially about their passion for their respective communities.

    Am I missing something?

No because my constituency is Penistone and Stocksbridge LOL.

No but really she seems to care about vital issues in the area, comes from a mining family etc. but although my family are relatively well off and have never had anything to do with mining I can't bring myself to vote for a party who have absolutely no interest in improving our town. Tories can get to ****.

So she's passionate about creating jobs, but stands for a party who destroyed them in this area. Probably loves the nhs and hates privatisation too.

Course it fekin well is ffs. If it hadn't been for investment by the EU through the coalfield generation scheme the Tories would have let us rot with run down mining works and pit stacks.
The council are tied between investment in the town and services to ex heavy industry workers services etc from the meagre budgets of all govts but more severely by the Tories who we had to spend millions just to catch up from the neglect of their 18 years of continuous savagery. So don't tell me its not the fekin Tories.

A real sweet talker aren't you? But to answer your question with another, why would I pay taxes in the UK if I don't live there and have no property there? What benefit would I get from paying taxes there? Are you jealous that I had the balls to get on in life? Because that's not good, you should be happy with what you have in life, otherwise do something about it like I did.

    Yeah. All the tories fault.
    Always is.
Tories fault that barnsley town centre has regenerated at snails pace while our neighbouring towns have had a flourish.

Perhaps you ought to look beyond the 80s...

tories are a lot to blame for the state of barnsley, however labour must also hold some responsibility, they have held local power here for decades, under both tory and labour governments,so they cant just blame the thatcher/major/cameron years for lack of funding,A thirteen year stint by labour could have provided a real upturn for the town, but it didnt.

Fair comment Del and I can't defend all labours handling.but a few perspectives need to be aired, tbf I don't know all of the reasons why labour have not invested more into our communities then they have but a few factors.

The Tories for years treat heavily industrialised areas the same as places like Henley on Thames etc ( stockbroker belt areas )
This has meant that a fair wedge of resources held by the council, health etc has had to be re diverted which is a scandal.
But I know people who when in their heyday were giants of men,top workers who through their work are now reduced to getting about on mobility scooters etc and had access to their property's altered among other things.this has happened all over the country and most labour councils have had to take on this burden because of the unfair sharing of funds in the Tory administration. So of course Tory heartlands have more resources they don't have that burden to the extent of places like Barnsley

There's lots and lots of other reasons like this and maybe more could have been done ,I'm not sure.but one thing is sure there's no sympathy or responsibility from the Tories and unfairness will be rife as they argue places like Henley should get the same resources ,disgusting.
