    No.

Gray can play at LB and LM.

LB will do nicely for me.

I hope not, good back up is Disco

Iceman out for 3 weeks, and JCR maybe still out at the weekend, leaving Gray Hammill and Disco the only wide options.

Not very defensive though is he...

Would rather play him out wide.

Plus Devaney's just crap so it should be the end of him anyway.

Hope so, nowt personal against Disco but he cant dribble, cross, pass and has no pace.
Julian Gray will add a bit of quality to the side, big lad too, always played very well against us.

or is it the end of JCR?

Devaney is mainly a right winger isn't he? JCR was the one who played on the left more. Hopefully we'll sell him and get a £100k or something

    Decent squad player Devaney.

No not very defensive, but has pace which is something our defence is crying out for.

    Well done Mark Robins.

Devaney has always played left wing....

....hasn't he? Even with Ritchie when he had Shuker. Only switched when we signed McIndoe and Kyel Reid.

Gray has ripped us apart the when Coventry beat us 4-1 and 2-1 at Oakwell, scored in both games if i remember correctly.

Saying that, Mifsud ripped us apart at times too but here's hoping he proves to be a success. :)

I'm not sure, i think he played mainly on the left but hasn't that always been because we had no-one else so he had to.

What wing did he cross from against liverpool? I know that chelsea was the right but I cant remember which side it was at liverpool, if that was the right wing as well it would hint that maybe he's been playing in the wrong place for us. I remember he used to be much better at taking players on when sprinting down the right wing than down the left when he first came to us

Played on the right at Liverpool.

Leon was on the left. JCR came off the bench that day.

Signing someone on a month to month contract shouldn't signal the end of a long term player. If we shipped out Devaney and Gray buggered off or it didn't work out we would be foooked.

I have seen Devaney's handful of good moments amongst mainly crap ones:

    Liverpool cross
    Chelsea cross
    2 goals at Plymouth
    Played well at Oldham

    Any more?

Didn't he score 2 when we played Oldham at home; play-off season? We beat them 4-0 at Oakwell.

3-0 at there place. He scored that day too.

that away game what I'm on about. Shows we struggling to pick half a dozen games out of 100+.

Keep him until we get everyone fit.

He had a good first season in the championship then faded and faded after that and now he is well past it.

    League 1 at best. He's a liability.

No I mean before davey took over. He was playing well in the championship at the beginning. Has his form coincided with JCR coming to us? I've no idea why that would be to be honest unless JCR being in the team has meant that the midfield/defence tend to pass the ball his way instead of to devaney on the other wing which has stopped him doing what he does best.

If he's only good enough to play in the 'ale house league' then the Premiership must be the ale house league because he was one of the best players on the pitch against both liverpool and chelsea.

Devaney has got the ability to play in this league but for some reason that I don't think anyone knows he has not performed to the level that he can do for the last two years with the odd exception. I think that with a new manager we should be trying to get the old devaney back and not writing him off based on how he's played under simon davey. If we did that then we'd have hardly any players at the club.
