an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth. so the Barsteward that did it should be stabbed to death also for punishment. people like that dont deserve to be alive.

    **** Schools are to blame **** !!!

    Not the teachers fault
But the politics in School........the fooooking do gooders
Teachers should be allowed to make kids behave. If that involves giving them a smack then so be it
Children today leave school with no respect for authority..They just do not care
Today I have taken my son to a private school for him to spend a day there before he starts that school in September.
This school is 20 minutes drive away.
I dare not let him go to a state school that is 2 minutes walking distance from where I live.
    How sad is that

No it is down to parents at the end of the day. Parents are role models to their kids. They are the ones that should be teaching them right from wrong.

I thought someone would come back with.......its the parents

    No i don't think so
    Why ???
Because some parents are not intelligent enough or caring enough to have kids in the first place
So its up to society to make sure children know right from wrong
    And this starts at school

Beleive me..........I ran wild at school....unless the teacher had a slipper or cane under the front desk
Then there wasn't a quieter kid in that class than me

You fear for his safety or you think that the school will fail him in his education?

Then that comes down to discipline which can be administered at home or school.

    Both.............but

When I went to senior school for the first 2 years I did well
Then I went off the rails and there was no one there to guide me through this difficult time
Hence - left school with no qualifications to call owt
Then I had my careers advice from mi dad a week after I had left school
"has tha got a job lined up yet"
    "no "
"well tha coming tut pit with me on Monday then"

    End of story :)S)

I know what you mean it is a big problem. It needs to be both but we all know that won`t happen.

About being able to give them a smack - I agree.

But I doubt your private school will be able to administer that either.

me too - had the cane once at school, made damn sure I never got it again.

And I didn't go running home to fetch my dad as I'd have got a slap for "telling tales" and another because I must have done something to deserve the cane!
