In my opinion, he's a waste of space at the back and his passing is poor. Yeah, he can hit a free kick, but nowt else. A bit harsh?
Didn't think he was that bad today. Don't get me wrong, he wasn't brilliant but I thought he did ok. Just lacks that yard of pace.
He's a trier, I'll give him that But I don't rate him as much of a footballer. He can kick the ball really hard like.
I hate to criticise any player who puts in as much effort as Werling but he is the weak link in our side when he plays at left back.
Defensively better than Hecky yes, Williams not sure. He's slightly quicker than Robbie but his passing and crossing is worse. Would rather have Kozluk in the side but then we end up with 2 right footers down the left flank which surely can't work?
he is craop full stop does nothing AT ALL. hits a half decent free kick now and again but very rare if he does.... i cud not compare William Heckingbottem or Werling cos none of them can defend.
Indeed his defending leaves something to be desired. No surprises he was the one expended when we went to 3 up front. On the one hand he can cross and has a good engine. But he's not strong enough and his positional sense is pretty lousy at times. But Kozluk has been hit and miss so I'm not 100% convinced we are a better defensive unit without him and if that's the case why sacrifice his free kick hitting by leaving him out?

Are you really talking about Werling in this post? He cannot defend to save his life, the only good thing he does is hit a decent cross and he once hit a good freekick. Kozluk is a LEFT fullback, he played there last season for Blunts, he can kick with either foot and is a better tackler than Werling.
No he is not crap at all. he has weaknesses that perhaps he needs to address, but he is not crap, not at all.
I think that... this free kicks thing is based on one fortunate goal than anything else. Kozluk is far better than Werling as a defender, simply as. Free kicks do not really matter.
