Quite a few people mentioned last night after the meeting that Doncaster Rovers have 7 players lined up to sign once the £20 million is invested into the club. 2 of those players, no names released, have been round the ground at Oakwell and met the staff according to these people. Both are interested but are holding out to see what happens over in Doncaster (waiting for the £££££ signs Id imagine in the pay packet). Whether this is true or not, after a few things Flicker said last night, I am surprised that the deals are still open to these players. Clearly they are waiting to see if the money gets pumped into Doncaster, and Flicker clearly stated if money is the sole reason for a player they would not be welcomed into this group of players. Personally I don't see why any player would see Doncaster a better prospect other than the money. I don't rate Dickov and can't see him developing too many players.
If its chopra and McLean that we are talking about then I can understand it. Those 2 players probably have to make the right decision for them at their stage of their careers. Both are in the mould of plug and play strikers that flicker has talked about and development is not high on their agenda IMO .
**** all will happen in Doncaster, Skysport understood we were being taking over by Arabs last season....
I saw last week where John Ryan was asked about Billy Sharp returning, he said...way out of our league now...cant be that much investment
The investors wouldn't just give 20 million because they love Doncaster so much, they want to make money not lose money
