Interesting read that. A wonder if any of our current squad are in demand over the summer period (excluding buttfield)

I think we may get an offer or two for Steele.

I'll be glad if we do - Steele is over-rated. He makes too many silly gaffs, his kicking is suspect and he is not commanding enough at corners. He is generally a very good shot-stopper and sometimes pulls off great saves but for me, for the reasons mentioned, he is not consistent and I would snap someone's hand off if a decent bid came in. Keepers are easier to replace than strikers so after any initial mumbling of discontent we'd have a decent replacement in I'm sure

I hope we don't cos I don't think we could attract a replacement anywhere near as good as Steele

Agree. Should by player of the season but may get pipped by Vaz Te or Butterfield

Dont be daft Steele is probably the second or third best keeper we have had in the last 40 years after Muller and possibly Watson. Obviously if someone offers us silly money for him we would need to take it but its almost certain he will be replaced with a worse keeper.

Do wish he would either improve his kicking or throw the ball out though

Been impressed with Done, had a good 1st season even with the breaks through injury. Should be a good un for us next season.

He's taken to the championship like a duck to water. I'd expect him to continue to improve and then by christmas when he's half a season left on his contract we will have to sell him on the cheap so we don't lose him for nothing.

    He's a good player

Very impressed with him. Still a little bit raw at the moment, but I reckon he'll only get better. Seems to have a bit of an eye for goal, would love for us to get him signed up on a longer contract.

My only problem with him is, his inability to use his right foot, maybe he'd be better played on the right wing so when he tries to cut inside, he doesn't lose possession as much.

    Re: He's a good player

Yeah I believe he's earned a contract extension on better terms. Sky Sports making him "highly rated" might mean clubs have been looking. We cannot afford to let us get in another situation of losing a player cheaply. Hopefully in the summer something will be sorted.

I agree. At times the best keeper in the championship and it would cost quite a bit to replace him with the same quality.

    Re: He's a good player

Don't you rate him? Or don't you think we have the money? We've the Vaz Te cash, Buttercup money coming, high earners off the wage bill or resigning on reduced terms. We can afford to offer him better terms. No player who's more experienced than when they first sign is going to resign on same terms.

Pleased to hear, but think his best position is in the middle behind the forwards

    Re: He's a good player

Dont need to go down the re-signing everybody who puts a shift in once in a while road it only ends up with us in the **** in the long run. Dont think Done has been that consistent throughout the season and would want to see more from him.

For every one you dont make enough money on there are lots whose contracts you end up paying up to get rid off.
