I always thought Huddersfield were the Dingles Them being close to Emmerdale and all. Never really understood why people called Barnsley the Dingles.

Closest ground when Emmerdale was in Esholt is Bradford I think they shoot it at Harewood House now, still probably Bradford though.
It seems to me That because we started calling sheffielders 'Dee Dahs' they desperately tried to find something to call us. Unfortunately, the poor little knuckle draggers aren't intelligent enough to think of something clever so they called us dingles 'coz we sound like 'em'.

The whole Dingles name calling thing is originally from Blackburn calling Burnley fans it, and as per usual the SWFC fans pinched it to call us it. I don't mind been called the Dingles cos the Dingles are the hardest family in the village and people are scared of them like SWFC are scared of us.

The whole Dingle family are from Lancashire So it doesn't really fit - thye don't even sound like they;re from tarn. Now Seth asrmstrong - he was a different matter
