That was a good fight that. Saunders deserved it, on points, as I predicted.... The big man next. Get your Fury on.
I'm pretty sure you said it would be a split decision, with Saunders winning the first four rounds. That's right isn't it? Did you get the lottery numbers right as well?
He won on points. I got it right. No idea what the judge who scored it to Eubank was smoking. Probably the stuff you smoke, with your zany predictions. Oh, hang on, you weren't actually predicting, they were bets weren't they? You're ace, Ben.
Not as ace as you. Can't be bothered to reply to both posts, but essentially I backed Eubank and Chisora as I thought there was an outside chance and I got cracking odds. I was proved right with the first prediction, not with the second. I scored the Eubank fight bang on a draw, but two of those rounds could have gone either way so the scores of 115-113 and 115-114 were more than acceptable. Eubank shouldn't have won on anyone's card. As for Fury, I've done nothing but praise his boxing ability last night, said it was his best win to date, but feel like we've still got a lot to find out about him. To suggest Klitschko is running scared is outrageous mind. Proper zany that. Maybe you should start a boxing blog? You can use it to brag about how you get the six British fights a year correct, picking the bookies favourite in a two horse race each time ...... * I've just read where you said Eubank Jr was well beaten last night. Really? Billy Joe struggled to get to his corner at the end of one round (think it was the 10th), and clearly lost five rounds. Teubank was never in any trouble, BJS had three or four shaky moments. That's not being well beaten.
I think he got drawn into a slugfest in round 7. He still won another couple of rounds for my money in the second half of the fight which in the main belonged to Eubank. I say well beaten, probably over egging it a bit. But to be fair, Eubank was favourite for the fight and I think Billy Joe outboxed him. Even in the rounds Chris won, he didn't annihilate BJ or even wobble him really. I saw Eubank's legs go in the second or third round, and at that stage I thought we'd been sold a pup. But, I honestly see Chris getting better, and, probably doing more at world level in the future than Billy. I never said Wlad was running scared did I? I said his team were loathe to put him in a dangerous fight. Fighting Fury would be exactly that. He'll end up fighting Wilder who's very chinny and very one dimensional. As for your other nonsense about me picking favourites etc, yep, I pick my favourites. Boxers I've watched from day dot. Calzaghe, Naseem, Graham, Kahn, Froch, Fury, Saunders etc. They haven't always been favourites with the bookies (your little jab at me), and haven't always won either, some of em. But they're fighters that got my attention from early on and I've stuck with them. Plenty fancied Groves against Froch. You were one of em weren't you? Bookies favourite was he? I dunno really, am not a betting man and pay no attention mostly to odds etc. If you think I'm bragging about being right etc, or basically just selecting the 'bookies' favourites, you need to chill art, lad. I'm a sarcy, wind up basterd on here and face to face. Thought you'd know that by now. And think on, had Fury lost yesterday you'd have been giving it to me and saying how right you were. But you didn't, because you weren't.
Eubank's legs didn't go. He got caught with a shot as he was ducking (which he did far too often) and balance was lost, but he never got hurt. The main reason BJS will probably struggle to make it to the top is his poor conditioning and his lack of power. Hence the big fluffy gloves. Like punching with pillows. BJS was hurt three or four times, mainly down to fatigue though rather than anything else as Eubank's punches were laboured power shots in those last few rounds. He was definitely on the brink when he got caught four or five times in a row before the bell went. Eubank only became favourite in the close run up to the fight, mainly due to the casual fan backing him due to the links and appearances of his Dad. Froch was favourite going in to the Groves fight. I said I thought Groves could win, but that's very different to putting my neck on the line and saying he would. I only backed Chisora because at 7/2 against someone who hadn't properly fought for two years, it felt too good to turn down. But it wasn't. Still haven't seen any Chisora quotes yet ......
True. I hope he's ok. You're right about Billy Joe. If he had some power he'd be a great fighter. Not sure his quality boxing will be enough at world level, but I hope so as I enjoy watching the lad.
