McPhail Said he was trying to impress other managers that may be coming to watch him. He's not been offered a contract at Barnsley like.
RE: McPhail Surely we HAVE to keep hold of him?! of course he can be a liability in terms of his past with injuries, but everyone knows what he's capable of I really fear this team being dismantled
We can't offer what we dont have. We have to wait until the end of the season I suspect.
Thats the way its gonna be until we are on an even financial footing.

RE: We can't offer what we dont have. Yeah i guess you're right Fingers crossed some of the lads won't want to leave, and maybe will be happy with whatever they are offered (within reason of course), i'd like to think some of the lads have become attached to the club, but i guess these days the loyalty generally isn't there Out of interest... how many (and who) are out of contract this summer? (sorry, i know it's been asked plenty before)
RE: Almost everyone I think I still think MacPhail doesn't play consistently enough for a team in our position. He went missing today, when we needed his input the most. If we were a super rich club we could carry him for the games he has helped us win but we're not.
Disappointing isn't it? I just wanted to ask him as rumours always fly around about players not being offered contracts. We run the risk of losing McPhail, Reid, Kay, Austin, Colgan, Shuker..... I could go on.
I'm sure we could offer him a contract at League One Rate Of Pay It would be difficult to offer him something more than that. I think it is best not to offer him anything until we know what division we will be playing in. Unless he goes to a top championship side, he won't do any better than the super reds can offer him (otherwise he would not have been here THIS season).
RE: I'm sure we could offer him a contract at League One Rate Of Pay Could we not offer him a 'League One' contract with a clause to say there's a pay rise if we go up? Extra incentive then for him and others!
I wondered that We could offer all the out of contract players a contract with 2 rates - a standard one and a bonus one if we go up

There would have to be... ...a non-promotion release clause as well otherwise some wouldn't sign it anyway.
