NYATANGA REVEALS DAVEY BOND Lewin Nyatanga has revealed that his relationship with Barnsley manager Simon Davey was key to his decision to move back to Oakwell. On Friday, Lewin completed a six-month loan move to the Tykes from Premier League side Derby County. The 19-year-old Wales international, who enjoyed a successful loan spell at Oakwell last season, admits he had no doubts about the move signalling out Davey for special praise. He told the club's official website: "Simon Davey really impressed me last season and he gave a lot of confidence to go out and play my football. At my age all I want to do is go out and enjoy football and that is something I am sure I will do here. I want to play as many games as possible and I cannot wait to get started. "I really, really enjoyed my time here last season and cannot wait to get back playing for Barnsley. I loved my time at Barnsley and really like the club, the facilities, the manager, the staff and the supporters so it was an easy decision to come back. "There was a lot of interest in me from a lot of clubs but it was important that I came somewhere that is moving in the right direction."
Another positive statement re Davey must be good for the club , the players (who really are his players now) and the manager, here's to a succesful season
shows the difference in the players... the greedy Barstewards who just play for the sake of money and fame hate him. the ones who really want to succeed love him.
RE: shows the difference in the players... How on earth do you conclude all that from one little article?
You're eithervery insightful or a bit mental I think?

Either way Nyatanga chose to come back to BFC. By the sounds of it we were up against a fair amount of competition for getting him on loan, and we won. Whilst we can debate the "why" until the cows come home, the fact is he came back and I think we have to appreciate that somewhere down the line someone must be doing something right for a lad who's at the start of his career but already an established international to want to play for us. Put it this way - on August 11th it's quite possible that Bobby Hassell, who did a bloody good job of being a centre half in many games for us, could find that he's 3rd or 4th in the pecking order to start and might well now be simply our reserve right back. Last season he was virtually a sure thing to be on the team sheet. As any London Tyke will tell you I must be one of Hassell's biggest fans but even I have doubts whether he'll be a regular this season. We're definitely going in the right direction. Bring on Coventry.
the hassell thing fantastic point mate hassell was a certain start last term and rightly so he is quality at centre or right back, if he slips down the pecking order as a result of our signings that can only be good for the club.

Hassell Nyatanga Reid Kozluk, looking a lot more solid to me
