There was an earlier post, for example, saying the team has been weakened in the transfer window.... We don't know this yet and we won't for a few games until the side re-settles. We MAY be weaker but we may also end up stronger. It would have been good to keep players of course as the sale of them destabilises, at least in the short-term. However, we do not yet know how other players will respond now that there are openings and the chance to stake a claim. We will see. It's far too early to judge in my opinion. A far as I am concerned I think we should be willing to give this 'new' team chance to sort itself out and kick on. There were glimpses against Wolves that they may be able to do this even though there were problems adapting to formation and some players seemingly hesitant/unsure of role etc... The club is in a good position. We will not go down. We have a chance of the play offs. If we finish mid-table we will be better for the Championship next season given the coaching at the club and if we were to get into the play offs it would be a big well done for the entire team and staff for coping with the transfer assault on the team.. We will see. Don't panic or over-criticise just yet - it's premature.
Well said. James for Morsy. Armstrong for Winnall. Yiadom back for Bree. Only question for me is can either Mowett, Kay, Moncur or Scowen step up for Conor. All massively gifted, and hope one of them makes a name for themselves. Hedges is supposed to be good so let's see if Hecky can make him great! I don't see us being particularly weakened in starting 11. Other than the big question mark over Conor. But to stay relatively even, albeit may take a few games to really level out, and have a few million in, then fair do the club - in incredibly hard times! No CEO, owner very ill. Hope Hecky gets a nice bonus, and the board grant him his wish of extra support on the coaching side. Really think if we finish mid table, get a very good CEO, extra first team coach, hopefully one or both of Scowen and Watkins sign back on, and we invest wisely this summer then we'll go from strength to strength. Exciting times at the club. My one main wish - Patrick beats this dreadful disease and can enjoy watching the team he has supported all these years play again.
Well youve just answered your own question, we may be weaker. That is why people are asking questions. If it turns out were not and that the loan players step up, happy days! But until then i can see why people might be abit pessemistic or cautious. Just because some people arent jumping with joy and dare to be abit underwhelmed it seems they are instantly not barnsley fans or anti bfc/cryne. Different views, different opinions.
And you sir haven't read my post carefully enough with respect. I'm only suggesting in essence that people should not overreact to the rumblings of the Jan transfer window in the short term. There are some people who are suggesting that we ARE weaker. I am only suggesting we may not be weaker at all and the criticism is therefore not justified at the moment because things haven't panned out yet. If things do not work out very well then we can look back cant we? At the moment all I'm saying is that people cut the team some slack. I am not answering my own question as you suggest (im not asking a question actually) but merely making a comment which is trying to say 'lets put things in more of a bigger picture'. That's all I intended to say and mean.
That's not what he's on about though is it s concerns/worries are understandable but its folk slagging the club off, massively overreacting and talking about killing the season etc. Anybody would think the club had gone out of their way to flog players and were not bothered that we hadn't signed a striker, it would have been just as bad if not worse if the club had got somebody in who wasn't seen as being up to standard. The fact that they have been piling in before the new additions had time to try their new kit on beggars belief.
I may be overreacting here, but is it fair to suggest that you may be overreacting to the overreaction?
Without Connor and Winnall we are at present a weaker team than we were three months ago. This will impact on our final league position.
We had a bad run earlier in the season when we had all or most of the those players still with us, but then it was put down to "being found out" or "ah well, we'd been punching above our weight anyway" The one thing that's really changed is some peoples expectations, and maybe a few short memories. Winnall and Hourihane didn't hit the ground running when they came to oakwell, and we went through quite a lot of average loanees before we got the ones that really at a positive effect on results. Things will take a bit of time, but we've plenty of it, and points on the board for a cushion. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
