But as Ramage is a Crystal Palace player... I think he's crap. I can't see what he brings to the side that Hassell, M'Voto or Nyatanga couldn't do better. I thought M'Voto was playing really well, but then one misplaced pass against Birmingham and he's dropped. Am I seeing it right, is he crap, or is my dislike for loan players clouding my judgement?
The latter. M'Voto is an accident waiting to happen. Ramage has confidence issues possibly? hes played 40 games for QPR and palace over the last 2 seasons and been promoted in each of those last 2 seasons . either hes been very lucky or he is decent player , i suspect the latter nyatanga should be playing left back by the way if he is anywhere near on form or fit. as for bobby its a difficult one , hes always done well but can he get a game in a back 4? playing with 3 center halfs id have him in like a shot
I'm saying nowt The last time I opened my big, fat gob to praise M'voto, he then proceeded to gift a goal to Birmingham.
Am with thee Jay aint seen nowt from him in the home games, although he has sarnded to have better games away last 2, maybee he`s a just for radio type player.
Re: I'm saying nowt No he didn't gift them a goal. He gave the ball away on the HALF WAY LINE, it happens 20 times a game. We had plenty of opportunities to clear.
I thought it already had on more than one occasion! As for Ramage, what the hell was he playing at with their goal, looks even worse on telly, he just completely loses track of the ball and then lets the man go!
No M'voto tried bringing the ball out of defence, but unfortunately his pass went straight to Caddis leaving him badly out of position. Caddis moved forward, wasn't closed down and scored a very good goal. The lad made a mistake, that's all. We had plenty of time to get back into the game, but from there on in, the team's confidence & discipline disappeared.
He is *****. Look back at the highlights of all the games he's played for us and you'll see him making mistake after mistake every game
I think Ramage has been poor and yesterday he was in my bottom three. I would replace him with Bobby because M'Voto is a liabilty and the invisible man is an unknown quantity this season. Our most experienced defender being on the bench when our defence is so poor is just stupid.
To paraphrase Mr Clough a little I'm not saying Ramage was our worst player. But he was certainly in the bottom one!
Yep he has been very poor for us. Very disappointed with him as I expected him to be solid at this level given his experience. Talking of experience at this level, which we always cry out for, we have a player on the bench who is possibly the most experienced defender at this level we have had since we got back here, but he doesn't get used. Ever. And on the rare occasions he does play we look solid and tend to pick up results. It's a bit of a joke really. I won't mention his name because Mary won't be able to resist hijacking the thread with a torrent of nonsensical abuse.
his performances for us haven't been good enough ,its unfair to single him out as that goes for just about every one of them who has worn the shirt this season, in every position not just defence. my point was he cannot be a bad defender. however he can be playing poorly and as no one warrants to get picked on reputation and previous deeds what do we do? throw bobby in? its reached desperation stakes and as bobby only played last season when it was **** or bust he may find himself in the team again, if i was manager id have crainie and ramage.
If our own players are crap, we've just got to grin and bear it. I just can't see the point of bringing someone in on loan to be crap.
Neither do I Jay apart from my TK attack yesterday that's my sole slagging But it's hard not to voice an opinion when continued repetitive disappointment and failure continues
Re: No I know it's not really relevant to the thread, but that one mistake (first goal against Brum) was rather quickly followed by another - the foul for the 2nd goal. I don't think either Ramage or M'Voto (on displays so far) are anywhere near Championship quality, but I guess you have to put the displays of both into the context of a team that isn't defending well collectively and has rock bottom confidence.
thats true of course, but im sure when flitcroft signed him he thought he was improving the team. its a term that means nothing but "on paper" im sure we all thought the same its what you we now that counts i guess, we really stuck between a rock and a hard place as on current form none of our defence warrant a place in the team, we either get better collectively with what we have, throw the chicken bones again and see who plays there next week (excluding bobby of course, hes not allowed to play it seems) or sign some new defenders!
My initial post Was to raise the issue of my putting the 'glad eye' on the poor lad. I'd praised M'voto's start to the game. My friends who sit with me (including Jay) immediately decided to time how long it would take for him to make his first mistake. Less than two minutes later, he'd given the ball away and we were 1-0 down! From now on, I'll keep my thoughts to myself during a match. I'm a bloody jinx!
I rate Ramage (although he was pretty poor yesterday, with numerous others). He played really well away at Bournemouth, and thought he impressed during that little spell in the side - in my opinion of course. Yesterday was ridiculous though. The two centre backs had zero support from the full backs, and were two on two at the back time and time again with our full backs 60 yards up the pitch. I thought Crainie played really well, and Ramage wasn't absolutely terrible, just got done for pace a few times against a really troublesome strike force. The team selection yesterday offended me, as did the performance. I honestly believe we disrespected and underestimated Yeovil yesterday, as nothing else can explain how we started.
