It doesn't seem too many years ago that we kicked a young player out of the Club after testing positive for a controlled substance.

How thing have changed we have now become a morally bankrupt Club.

That's exactly what your comment is.

    RE: garbage

    Why?

Dean Jones was booted for smoking weed which when I last checked was illegal.

Cadamateri took a substance that is banned by the FA. It's not a criminal offence.

    Two totally different situations.

Not only banned by the FA but also banned by almost every Sport in the World.

He was luck only to get 6 months when athletes can get 2 year bans.
Alan Baxter also lost his Winter Olympic Bronze medal and was also banned.

I'm sorry guys but Cads was found guilty of taking a banned stimulant that makes him a cheat as far as I'm concerned.

Have you ever been a competative athlete only to find out years later that you were beatten by someone who was taking illegal substances?

If you had you may have a different view.

Yes, but players are made aware by club doctors and physios what products they can and can't take.

The information is freely avalable from the FA, UEFA and FIFA.

A friend of mine who was regular GB international would have won medals had she not been compeating against East German and Eastern block athelete who years later were found to have been on drugs.

A relative would also have qualified for an Olympic final but was beaten for a place by an athlete whos drug test results were not released until after the final.
I get very upset about that.Robbed of an experience of a life time byu a drugs cheat.

At the standard I raced at there were no drug testing so they could and did take what they wanted. I saw plenty of pills taken before races and had amphetamines offered to me more than once. I wouldn't even take an asprin before a race.

    Double standards on the BBS?

Not quite sure I think Cadamarteri would be a good signing or not but, if he were to sign and score a hatful, I daresay his previous indiscretions would soon be forgotten...

Do you think that he will improve on his 30 goals in ten years?

As I said, I'm not quite sure he'd be a good signing or not - that wasn't what I was commenting on. My point was would people be so self-righteous if it was Edgar Davids or Japp Stam who were coming to play for the Reds?

    I doubt it...

No! He shouldn't be a priority any way.If money is tight we need strengthening
    1 Centre half
    2 A strong central midfielder
    3 A target man
in that order-any money over get a left back.
