I personally think Mowatt should be his partner in the middle if we do play a 4-4-2 formation.

Do you think he's the right player or not. Who would you pick ?

Will all depend on formation of side I guess.

Looks like Mowatt has staked a strong claim to be in there.

Potts & Moncur are other options. McGeehan looks like he may be cover for Dougall.

Who the **** knows really? Season hasn't kicked off.

Wouldn’t surprise me to see us use 5-3-2 quite a bit, given our lack of options out wide.

I’m a big fan of Potts, and I liked what I saw from McGeehan, before he went out on loan. Add in Mowatt’s recent displays and it looks like a nice problem for Stendel to have.

Wrote that, then realised I’d forgot Moncur. Very strong in the middle, for League One anyway. Add a couple of wingers, keep hold of the rest of the squad, and we’ll have a good campaign.

I'd guess that Mowatt has got himself first in line. I'd like to see Dougall, Mowatt and Moncur/Potts as a three, which would necessitate a 3-5-2. But time will tell. Good potential options in the squad that's for sure.

I don’t bother with friendlies but from what I’ve heard Mowatt deserves to start & it’s not like the other central midfielders that were here last season did anything to suggest they deserve a start.

Mowatt’s got a lot of talent, player of the season as a kid with a top half championship finishing Leeds side, huge pedigree, when you think about it he should be our best player.

Who knows what’s happened these past 18 months, maybe getting sold by Leeds wrecked his confidence, can’t be easy going from player of the season & linked with premier league sides to not been able to get a game a couple of seasons later.

He would be handy at set pieces & if we could sign Brian the Snail , he would be one to bring off the bench to slow the game down to see us home !
