having a big impact on fans since returning from injury... still think he could have been a great squad player here if it wasn’t for injury after injury https://avftt.co.uk/index.php?threads/calderwood-or-dougall.11369/
Favourite quote Dougall is the glue holding the team together. Outstanding buy even if he was hiding in a cupboard at Oakwell....
It's great that he's found his feet, I still feel he was unnecessarily discarded by Struber and given a fair crack
He was just a bit average . Typical career/journeyman footballer picking up a decent wage along the way. That's his prerogative I suppose.
Gave his all in the Donny match where he got injured again for us. I cant believe he tried to play on. Hope he gets a proper chance in the championship with Blackpool next season.
Whilst you cannot take away what Struber did to help to save us from the drop he was undoubtedly a very divisive manager and Kenny was another along with McGeehan and Wilks who didn’t get a fair chance to show what he was capable of. Yet Ritzmaier got every opportunity to show us just what he couldn’t do. VI must deservedly be given every credit for turning our season around, but the fact that Ritzmaier is no longer there to weigh the team down is not lost on me.
I thought he was good before he got his 1st injury away at Shrewsbury and never really found form after that. Hope he has fully recovered from that and the broken leg and can crack on now.
Well said Helen. Hadn't we used all 3 subs - can't quite remember. How many players would have just gone off and not played on - quite a lot I feel.
No I think we did have subs left but he'd obviously properly hurt himself, tried to carry on cos it was a mustn't lose match and he was key defensively. Really should have waited for a stretcher.
I just dont have that memory, I can see him draggging his leg on the pitch , remember it was a 0 0 draw but couldn't tell you the line up.
It was a much depleted team we'd put out due to injuries and suspensions away at local rivals who went on to reach the Play Offs. For me, it was a well earned and deserved point.
