OK, If you were the chairman, and by your comments, you'd sack Davey. Who would you get to take his place? It's only 2 league games, for fcuks sake. Bolton are top of the Premier league, with Blackburn 2nd, and Hull (yes Hull) 3rd. You think they'll be there at the end of the season?
Very very good point Longley. But honestly, how long do we put up with this blokes stubborness before we do something about it.? For the record i don't think we should sack him, like you say, where would that get us? But it is about time that our benefactor admitted the bloke needs help(in more ways than one)and gets him a co manager, director of football, call it what you want.Simon Davey is drowning in a sea of his own ineptedness.
dont usually think strongly enough about this to comment but, a number of times last year we mauled teams early on, only for them to change formation/tactics and turn us over because we didnt respond, and how many times have we had to suffer the last 20, 30 minutes of long aimless route one football with no output add to that players being out of favour therefore not being available for selection etc etc I think we have some good players and if the whole is greater than the sum of its parts (tactics, motivation, commitment) something is missing there is a danger that in order to avoid changing managers again, we will stick with someone who will not take us forward and if you are not moving forward you are moving backwards. Players will come and go but we are tactically naive, if this season is going to be another learning experience for SD I think pressure for a replacement will build bring in a tactician who is respected by SD (if such a person exists) and then we'll see
