A few short weeks ago this board (sorry the old board) was full of positivity. If only you could bottle pre-season positivity, the world you have a significant new sustainable power source. I bought into that positivity and started to dream of the season a head. I bought into that because I am a Barnsley fan, and for me that dream is what it is all about. The belief that with a bit of luck, some hard work, guts and a few skilled (but economy) players, that we (BARNSLEY) could give the mega buck big city clubs a fright. Of course we all know the reality is that money buys success in football. I have seen the maths that calculates what each premiership goal costs. But still I dream the dream, because sometimes dreams do come true, and because I have absolutely no interest in supporting a multi-national corporation for a club. What is the point in that? It's a dream, and I (we) may have been stupid to have been suckered by Hill into dreaming it. But I dreamed it because I wanted to dream it, because I will always want to believe it. That's why it’s more magic when the impossible dream does come true. Hill might not be the person to make our dream come true. But perhaps it does take someone like Hill with total self belief to make it happen. I don't think anyone of use does not make mistakes. I don't think that this is going to be easy. I don't think our small town club will ever run with top flight long-term. But I still dream we can make it some day, I still dream that we will be back at Wembley and will win. There is a long way to go this season. The dream never dies!!!
well said and booing the team in the first week of the season is definitely not going to help, get behind em COME ON YOU REDS!
whatever you wish to call it, when the day comes that you stop dreaming/living in hope with regards to football thats the day to stop watching your team
