3 of us getting an early train over and doing some pre-match boozing. Should we go to Manchester first or straight to Rochdale (at the risk of getting brayed in the Rochdale pubs by local dummies)? I.e. is it safe? Cheers, Mike.
Perfectly safe last time out but many have a strange attraction to Manchester. Manchester is a key transport hub but I say why not venture to these smaller places for a change.
Not going to the game but if I was I'd be heading here http://www.thebaum.co.uk/ In fact I'd probably just stay there and sod the match!
Other options include the Cemetery at the top of Sandy Lane or the Ratcliffe Arms on the club car park. The Ratcliffe is divided into two bars, you'll get plenty of room in the main one at the front. Get in there early doors and you can even use up all the negative feelings towards King Keith on the Leeds v Sheff Wed match that'll be on.
Oulder Hill school off Sandy Lane used to do parking but if you get there early enough there's plenty of street parking. Have a look on Google maps maps, Ings Lane just past the ground is easy enough too and this is where they usually put the away coaches. Tip: if there's a decent away following, the route down Sandy Lane/Roch Valley Way to J20 of the motorway can take ages to crawl along. Stick your satnavs on and head up Edenfield Rd or Bury Rd then through Heywood and join the M62/60 at J19.
I'd rather listen to Keith and Flicker fawn over each other. Again. Whilst trapping my ******** in a vice.
