RE: ethanol is full of calories It's about availability.</p> The body can't directly use ethanol like it can say fats and sugar for energy. It has to convert it toi fat then use it. By the time it's converted it to fat you have a different energy source it can use so it gets deposited in the usual places - hips, stomach, arse etc.</p>
