Had a look at a couple of route planners to give me an estimated time. From Barnsley they have thrown me two routes. 1) Down the M1 to Worksop and across to Lincoln, or 2) Head towards Donny out of tarn and down the A1. It seems to claim the A1 way will be faster, but will it, realistically at 5ish?

    Also, any suggestions on parking?

    Best route

is A1/A57. Make sure you have 30 pence for the toll booth though.

There's some street parking around and some expretty pensive car parks nearby.

I went for the weekend t'other week - M1 to Worksop and then A57 (although the A57 disappears for a while as you go on the A1 for a time)
    There's a 30p toll bridge as well

Your looking to be heading towards J30 then off there down the A57. Depends really on what time you set off to how bad the traffic is. It can be quite busy around 33 down to 30 as there is the M18 flow to consider as well. Your looking, around hlaf hour 45 mins from J37. The A57 isnt normally that bad for traffic a goods steady contraflow.

If you're on M1 side of Town, use the M1, if A1 side of town, use the A1 - I guess the difference between the two routes will be cancelled out by the time you get to the A1 or M1.

If you wanted to get around paying the toll, keep on the A1 down to Newark, but it's not really worth it.

Can't help with parking - only go to the In-laws off the high street and don't know the layout of the ground.

You could park on the High Street and walk to the ground, plenty of pubs to choose from on the way.

    Wish I was going :'(

I usually go the A1 route. It's worth pointing out that there are some evil roadworks with 50mph average speed check cameras on the M1 near Meadowhall and Sheffield at the moment.
As far as I can remember (not been for a few years) there's car parking available at the ground.
