I see Jezza was in the magistrates court yesterday. No bail application and remanded to appear next via video link - still think he's on for a slapped wrist ? 5 I'm telling you
was in a position of trust so he should go down for a while i agree....... parents of schoolkids probably want to see him jailed as well. kids have enough on getting through school without being preyed on by teachers.... most of whom do a fine job. hth
Er, don't know . I certainly would think that there is something not very balanced about our legal system if he gets years compared to the gravity of the offence, but I am starting to think you are probably right - he'll get a decent stretch. The whole thing has a general feeling of witch-hunt to me which doesn't sit very easily - it's a bit like the numerous recent examples of jailing people for expressing opinions that offend. I am all in favour of harsh penalities - tough on crime and all that ********, but ffs, pick the right crimes. Jail people for a long time who murder people, rob them, turn violent on people etc - not people who have offensive opinions or who run away in a naive belief that they are in love. Certainly will be interesting to see who's right! . No doubt he'll get 2 1/2 years, and then we'll both be wrong.
I don't find this a trivial matter at all, like say sick jokes or slogans on T-shirts. A professional mature man in a position of authority entrusted with the care of children absconded with one of those children to the continent. And let's not be namby pamby about this, he took her there to **** her. In my opinion that's a serious crime.
I was in the barbers last week and there were a few blokes in there talking about this, all older blokes, late 40s, 50s, that sort of age. Anyway, the general consensus was that harsh sentencing wouldn't be correct, mainly on the grounds of "have you seen her? Anyone in their right minds would have banged her". ******* hell! Is there anyone that was alive in the seventies that actually wasn't a paedophile??
Unless it was their daughter and then the pitchforks and flaming torches wouyld've been out. The ******* absolute **** ends.
Correct, a strong message should be sent out here, or else it's alright for teachers to groom and **** their pupils.
It was mental. There were four of them in total agreement, the silly old bsatards. They'll probably be in Rotherham tomorrow.
Has he been charged with abduction? Seems harsh unless he taped her mouth shut and then banged her in the back of a van and on the ferry.
I understand the abusing a position of power but unless she was physically/mentally forced to run off with him then I think an abduction charge is harsh.
I think it is classed as statutory abduction or summat due to her being 15 at the time. Am I right in thinking that she would have been 16 a few weeks later?
Yeah but it's not like asking a lass you work with away for a mucky weekend - he was her teacher and so has nurtured the relationship to the point where he's been able to take her away. That's where you'd get 'abduction' I suppose. It all stems from the position of trust - he's a ******* disgrace.
She's 16 early next year I believe, but even so, the pitch fork brigade need to get a sense of perspective, fecking hell. Of course he was wrong, and of course it must be seen to be punished to send a message out that it was wrong but everyone seems intent on fecking ruining both of their lives to make a puritanical point. She went with him willingly - yes it is still classed as child abduction because she is still classed as a child, but he did not fecking lift her from a garden. No one is giving a **** about her here - do you really reckon that she's at home now wailing on a counsellors shoulder that she's been abused and that he deserves what's coming - **** off. If he gets 5+ years then she will spend the rest of her teenage years feeling massively guilty that her complicity in what they did means that he is behind bars. But the pitch fork brigade will be happy so that all right then. He needs to be given 6 months to send a message that it's wrong, but he can then be out by Christmas and they can get on with their lives. Anything else is an unjustifiable overreaction.
Change my views since gaining a 13 year old step daughter three years ago, now l'd say they should chop his ballax off.....three years ago l would have said "tha should have waited til she was 16 and old enough to pay for the trip her sen."
