any recommendations for a good hotel??

3* or more, cheapish but clean, b&b preferably and near the main part but not IN Temple Bar itself...

any fantastic experiences!!?!?

recommendations appreciated... cheers in advance.

We stayed at Jury's Inn Christchurch when we stayed.
Not cheap but then Dublin isn't.

Clean, pleasant, close to the action - we had no complaints.

I was there early last December & stayed in the Camden Court Hotel. It might have been because I booked close to when I wanted to stay & also because it was in the run up to Christmas but it cost just over £100 for the night. Not sure if this is typical but it was a decent hotel & quite central.

North Star Hotel

Opposite railway station (infact the rail line goes over reception which is built into the viaduct!) but it was quite as the rooms are further back.

Bus from airport stops right outside the hotel.

Its not far from Grafton St....a 10-15 min walk from Temple Bar.

Decent breakfast as well.

Correction - it IS cheap

by Dublin standards.

And by the way, you mean Custom House, not Christchurch - I should know I shared a room with you. Jurys Christchurch is the one slap bang IN Temple Bar isn't it?

Room rate is 93 Euros, which is hardly breaking the bank in any major city.

It's about 5 mins on foot to Temple Bar, which is about right if you want to be able to sleep.

Easily a 4* by UK standards.

I thought

Christchurch was the cathedral bang opposite the hotel?
Could be wrong though.

definitely is the one we stayed in with Coachman junior, spending our days walking in the pissing rain looking for bloody stone circles & ancient burial grounds when we should have been down the pub.

Try looking on

www.under99.com for Hotels

Avoid Hotel St George, cheap but basic and so you get loads of 'lads' staying...noise in the early hours !

Not 3* but...

definitely the best value place to stay in dublin

http://www.kingfisherdublin.com/

Great value, the breakfasts are superb and it is at the top of O'Connell
Street, you really cant get more central. Clean and accesible for all
pubs etc. Most people who stay in the Jury's Inn opposite come in here
for there breakfast.
