I know this won't be of interest to everyone, but in his press conference today, Duff admitted for the first time that he feels it was a mistake to leave Barnsley when he did.
Said that he jumped ship too early thinking he could take a short cut to the top but that he has learnt his lesson.

Chuffing hell it’s like seeing your ex bird with your best mate & hearing her say she regrets everything.

    Ahh well we move on.

Is that honesty or self promotional humility ?

Calculated comment in order to allay the Terriers’ fears that he’ll be on the SS Championship if he narrowly avoids promotion with them.

Is that his new way of trying to say he is at Huddersfield for the long haul....

Until the next offer comes up

Still, it's nice to hear him admit his mistake

I wasn’t being facetious, I’m prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt and say it was honesty.

I meanwhile don't trust him one iota and I believe your second assessment is correct, he's painting himself in a better light to get more stock with the fans.

Just like saying he's in it for the long haul.

Very astute statement from Duff. It’s ‘long haul’ dressed up differently. Telling them what they want to hear.

We’ve needed a manager for weeks, does any one know if he offered his services, seeing as he felt so bad?

Why should he? As likely to get sacked as poached. Suitcase Sid if he's any sense.

He was rumoured to not get the job when Moore got sacked because he wouldn't move up here. Now he's got the job and mentioned a place of belonging in his interview. I think he's bringing his family up here.

While hard to work away from family, is it any kinder to drag them around after you? Life as a football manager is hardly stability - could be sacked and on the move every twelve months.

I regret sleeping with the scruff from Wales because he had a newer car... any way I regret leaving your cousin and I'm ready to commit to you baby.

Just a rewrite of the 'long haul statement' to keep the natives happy!

Yeah I'd love to see him next Tuesday. Well shut. Greasy, slimy, smarmy, scripted. Doesn't matter. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice...oh I couldn't give a 5hit :D

He also insisted on telling us when he left, that it wasn't our owners fault, and that they did everything to persuade him to stay with us.
I just don't understand him though, if he's trying to say these nice or positive things to us as fans.
