Surely £20 mill is enough to buy the club, its stadium, Academy ground, car parks and a bit of land and return them all to the Clubs ownership ?
There is money to be made What about little stalls set outside the ground selling all in one 'Souness Hair and Tache Face Masks' ?
maybe but how are you going to get a return on that without selling the land for housing? We know what happened when someone last suggested that.
Doesn't have to be housing - Oakwell Community Developements or whatever they are called seem to want to build houses, but I'm sure you'd get approval for developement sympathetic to the Football Club - esp if they ever build that link road from Harborough Hills through to Pontefract Road.
what sort of development would that be? Was a sad day when they built on that wood beihnd the East Stand. Lost count of the number of broken ankles on their after dark
Haven't a clue but an esteemed local Journalist told me that when previous owners of BFC had enquired about developing they had been told that approval would only be given for developement "sympathetic" to the football club whilever there was a Football Club at oakwell.
The only "sympathetic" devt I can think of are leisure facilities and there's shedloads of them already
Aye. Still, with BMBC owning 50% of OCD wotsit I think and not stating as fact, they should know what will go where.
